SPIRITUAL LIFE

Jesus is the reason for BCS, and we strive to keep Him as the core focus of everything we do at the school. Bethesda is firmly committed to a solidly Biblical mindset, standing strong for the Lord as a bright light in an ever-darkening world that is turning its back on God. It is our desire to see BCS as a place where the character of Christ will be expressed authentically by all.

We desire for our students to encounter Christ personally and to grow strong in Him over their years at Bethesda. We want our students to finish their time at BCS knowing what they believe and why they believe it. We want them to be able to defend their faith, withstand the onslaught of secular thought that they will face in life, and take the gospel to the world.

BIBLE CLASS

Every student at BCS is enrolled in a Bible course devoted to building their understanding of God and His word. The goal of these classes is to help students get a clear grasp of the gospel, the metanarrative of Scripture, basic Christian beliefs, and how to think Biblically.

BIBLICAL INTEGRATION

Biblical education doesn’t just happen in Bible class but is integrated into all aspects of our curriculum. We seek to train students to see their world through a Biblical lens, bridging the gap between their faith and academics.

CHAPEL

Once a week we set aside time in our schedule for chapel. Here we gather to worship and open God’s Word to discover who He is and what He desires of us. We draw from a variety of local individuals to present God’s word to our students, including BCS staff, pastors, and student ministry teams.

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS

We value opportunities for our students to put into practice what we are teaching. We offer many opportunities for students to use their God-given gifts and abilities to impact the world around them. Examples include our senior retreat and service trip, student cadets, Operation Christmas Child, and a community service week.
